While trying to create account on vultr and linking credit card, I got following error:

The credit card as you have entered was declined. If available, please use another method of payment or PayPal.

Tried few times but same error. After some head scratching I found out that I didn’t’ verify my email.

Solution

Verify your email by clicking on the link sent by vultr and then try to add credit card. It will work.
